The major expansion project is near completion and everyone is invited to our GRAND OPENING September 18th & 19th!

This project is focused on preserving and repurposing historic site buildings and creating an enhanced visitor experience. The new site will offer an exciting venue for local arts and culture as well as provide visitors with a memorable experience at an historical setting. The project includes several areas of development including; the Beaty Lundin Visitor Centre, new interactive exhibits about community and the relevance of minerals and metals in our lives, themed landscaping and wetlands; as well as a satellite location for the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame.

To date, the Museum has received more than $6 million from private individuals as well as the matched $7 million from government.

Major donors include Teck Resources Ltd, Ross Beaty, Lucas Lundin, as well as Placer Dome Inc, Northern Dynasty Minerals, and Gold Corp (a complete list is listed below). We are still looking to raise the final funds for this exciting project.

These substantial donations reflect the mining industry’s continued support in the Museum and confidence in this project that represent Canada’s mining history. Mining in the past, present and future will be reflected in the Museum’s exhibits, highway presence and visitor experience.
